Today’s blog is short and sweet, but tomorrow is something I’ve been looking forward to all week.
I have the joy of photographing my two little cousins, and we’re planning a vintage-inspired kids photoshoot that already has my creative heart spinning.
There is something incredibly special about vintage children’s photography. Little boys in suspenders, classic button-ups, tiny boots, maybe even a newsboy cap. It instantly feels timeless. These aren’t just photos for social media. These are heirloom portraits. The kind that hang on walls for decades and get tucked into albums that future generations will flip through one day.
I absolutely love themed portrait sessions, especially vintage shoots. Themes transform a session from simple snapshots into an experience. The wardrobe, the textures, the tones, the intentional styling. Every detail works together to tell a story. When you combine that with the natural energy and personality of little boys, it becomes pure magic.
Vintage photography has a way of slowing everything down. It captures childhood in a way that feels classic, refined, and meaningful. Children grow so quickly, and preserving this stage of life through a timeless aesthetic adds depth and emotion to every image. It is not just about how they look.
